Modern corporate finance is the area of finance that deals with how businesses source funding, structure their capital, and make investment decisions to maximize long-term value for their owners, their shareholders and their stakeholders. Modern corporate finance has transited away from the classic of simply financial maximization, and now is adapting frameworks to incorporate boraoder societal costs and benefits. 

At the Institute of Adaptation Stefanie Kleimeier studies the links between modern corporate finance & adaptation, focusing on retail banking, syndicated loans, project finance, banking market integration and - most recently - sustainable finance.
